Shawn Alig was born and raised in Okarche, Oklahoma, where he grew up working on his family’s pig farm. That rural upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic, deep respect for land stewardship, and an early love for the outdoors — values that continue to shape his life and business today.
An avid hunter from a young age, Shawn developed a passion for firearms and archery that evolved into a lifelong pursuit of big game adventures. In 2008, he founded Shawn Alig Cattle, a thriving cattle operation he still owns and operates today. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to land-based businesses gave him a solid foundation to launch his next venture: Global Pursuits LLC.
In 2017, Shawn met his wife through a shared love of hunting. Together, they committed to a healthier lifestyle, losing over 150 pounds each and embracing a new chapter filled with energy, travel, and adventure. That transformation reignited their love for exotic hunting — and since then, they’ve hunted together across Africa, Canada, Mexico, South America, and throughout the United States.
Shawn’s personal experiences with outfitters worldwide, combined with his no-nonsense approach and blue-collar background, have made him passionate about helping others realize that dream hunts aren’t just for the elite. Through Global Pursuits, he’s able to connect like-minded hunters with ethical, high-quality, vetted outfitters — and more importantly, he’s helping everyday people experience the hunt of a lifetime.

Haskell Smith is a lifelong outdoorsman with a deep-rooted passion for hunting and a 35-year career in the archery and outdoor industry. Born and raised on a family farm in Oklahoma, Haskell’s love for the outdoors began early — chasing small game through the fields and woods of his home state. That early experience quickly grew into a passion, which evolved into a career that would take him around the world.
Haskell’s dedication to the sport of archery led him to compete at the professional level, where he not only sharpened his skills but also developed a deep understanding of ethical hunting and conservation. Along the way, he guided turkey and deer hunts across Oklahoma, helping other hunters enjoy meaningful and successful experiences in the field.
Throughout his hunting career, Haskell has been fortunate to pursue game across North and South America, New Zealand, and the African continent. With every hunt, he built lasting relationships with some of the best outfitters in the world — relationships that now form the backbone of Global Pursuits.
The idea behind Global Pursuits LLC was simple: to help everyday hunters achieve what once seemed out of reach. As Haskell recalls, he once believed that places like Argentina, New Mexico, or Limpopo, South Africa were just pipe dreams — destinations reserved for celebrities or the wealthy. He didn’t have anyone to guide him through the planning, logistics, or budgeting of a global hunt. Now, he’s using a lifetime of hard-earned knowledge and experience to be that guide for others.
Through Global Pursuits, Haskell is committed to offering personalized service, honest guidance, and curated hunts that match each client’s dreams, abilities, and budget. For him, it’s not just about the harvest — it’s about helping people live out the kind of adventures they once thought impossible.
Global Pursuits was born from a simple but powerful realization — that too many hardworking hunters believed international adventures were out of reach. Haskell and Shawn had both traveled the globe chasing game and building relationships with top-tier outfitters. But time and again, they heard the same thing from fellow hunters back home:
“That kind of trip isn’t for guys like me.”
That didn’t sit right.
As lifelong outdoorsmen and blue-collar entrepreneurs themselves, Haskell and Shawn knew that the average American hunter doesn’t lack passion, grit, or commitment — they just lacked access. With Haskell’s background as the owner of Choctaw Archery and Guns, and Shawn’s decades of experience in the field, they built a network of vetted, ethical, and proven outfitters around the world.
